Training cum Input distribution under Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan at Lambung

 

Chandel, 19/06/2018:

A one day training programme on Bee keeping, Mushroom Cultivation, Nutritional Gardening and Soybean cultivation under “Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan” was conducted on 19/06/2018  at Lambung Village, Chandel. The welcome and keynote address was given by Dr. IM Singh, Joint Director, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre. Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture), Govn’t of Manipur Letkhogin Haokip, IAS emphasized the importance of farmer participation in any development programmes taken up by the Government in achieving double income and sustaining livelihood. Shri. Krishna Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel had elaborated in his speech regarding Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan and the role of district administration and line departments for bridging the gap between the villagers and the departments. He encouraged the farmers to approach any departments including his office for availing Government schemes. Dr. K. Mandharan, Director, Jute, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India and Nodal Officer, CSS Scheme for North Eastern States shared his happiness for cooperation and coordination from the State Government, District Administration and line departments with ICAR and KVK. Director of Agriculture, P.H Rajendra Singh highlighted various projects and schemes for the farmers and informed the farmers to come forward for successful implementation of the Government policies. The programme was also participated by Dr. Deepak Singh, Sr. Scientist, KVK Chandel; Kh. Surchandra Singh, Joint Director, District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Chandel; Ts. Gladny Monsang, District Agriculture Officer, Chandel and Honey Chara, District Officer, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Chandel.
In the training Session, Dr. N. Johnson Singh, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK Churachandpur spoke on Bee keeping; K. Lily Rangnamei, SMS (Horticulture), KVK Imphal West on Mushroom Cultivation; Gunamani Singh, SMS (Plant Breeding), KVK Imphal West on Seed production while Dr. Kl. Levis Chongloi, ACTO (Agronomy), KVK Chandel spoke on Scientific cultivation of soybean and Nutritional Gardening. An interaction programme was also conducted thereafter the training between the experts and the farmers. During the programme soil health cards, cono weeders, Seeds and sapling were distributed to the beneficiaries. The training was attended by staff of ATMA-Chandel; District Agriculture Department, Chandel; District Horticulture Department, Chandel; District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Chandel and KVK Chandel.
